About 30 years or so ago, the Freep ran a sory on Mayor Metelsky's involvement with the teamsters starting up a local bank, which failed after about one year. The newspaer article mentioned that Metelsky had a machine gun in his desk while mayor. At one time in downtown, there was a John Birch society bookstore, and earlier there was Lou Klein's wrestling school across the street.

Lou Klein was a minor wrestling legend known as "the man of a thousand holds" He started up his wrestling school around 1964, when he himself was in his 60's. His daughter, Linda Klein. also was a wrestler.
